Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect information when you visit UK Pickleball Hub. Last updated 2 November 2026.

Who are we?

UK Pickleball Hub ("we", "us", "the Hub") is an editorial website at ukpickleballhub.co.uk operated from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal data you provide while using the site.

For questions about this policy, use the contact page or email hello@ukpickleballhub.co.uk.

What data do we collect?

Reading the site does not require an account, email signup or any personal details. The information we collect is limited to:

  • Anonymous traffic measurement (page views, referrer, country, device class) via Google Analytics 4, only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
  • Tag-management state via Google Tag Manager - the loader runs on every page, but downstream tags (analytics, advertising) fire only with the matching consent.
  • Server logs retained by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention (IP, request URL, timestamp, user agent) under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
  • Contact form messages - only if you choose to send one from the contact page (see below).
  • Newsletter email addresses - only if you choose to subscribe (see below).

We do not run an e-commerce store or user-account system, so we collect no payment data and no profile information.

What happens when you use the contact form?

Using the contact form is optional. It asks for your name, your email address, a reason for getting in touch and your message. If you email hello@ukpickleballhub.co.uk directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the email.

Your name, email address and message are used only in connection with the message you sent. We do not add you to the newsletter or any other list because you contacted us.

The form is protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a bot is submitting it.

To ask us to delete a message you sent, and the details that came with it, email hello@ukpickleballhub.co.uk or use the contact form.

What happens when you join the newsletter?

Joining the newsletter is optional. The signup asks only for your email address. Alongside it we record that the signup came from this site and the consent wording shown next to the form.

Your email address is used only to send you UK Pickleball Hub newsletters and updates. We do not share it with advertisers or sell it.

Newsletter emails are sent through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), processed in the AWS Europe (Ireland) region. See the AWS privacy notice at https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/.

You can unsubscribe at any time. To unsubscribe or ask us to delete your email address from the list, email hello@ukpickleballhub.co.uk or use the contact form.

How do we use cookies?

The site operates under Google Consent Mode v2. On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner where you can:

  • Accept all (essential + analytics)
  • Reject non-essential (essential only)
  • Customize (toggle analytics on/off)

Denied is the default for analytics, advertising, ad personalisation and personalisation storage until you give consent. Functionality and security cookies are always granted (they are strictly necessary for the site to work).

You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

If your browser sends Do Not Track (DNT), we respect it and do not load analytics regardless of the banner state.

How do affiliate links and ads work?

Some outbound links to retailers and equipment vendors are affiliate links - we may earn a commission when you click through and buy. The destination retailer may set cookies on their domain; we have no control over those. See the affiliate disclosure for the full list and our editorial position on affiliate revenue.

We do not currently run programmatic display advertising on the site. If this changes, this policy will be updated and you'll be re-prompted for advertising consent.

How do we use your information?

Aggregate, anonymous traffic data is used solely to:

  • Understand which guides are useful (and which need rewriting)
  • Detect technical errors and broken pages
  • Inform editorial priorities (which UK regions, gear categories and skill levels are under-served)

We do not sell personal data, share it with brokers, or use it for any kind of advertising profile.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used (this page)
  • Access any personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have data erased ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

For analytics data, most of these rights are exercised by withdrawing analytics consent in the cookie banner. If you have sent us a message or joined the newsletter, you can ask to access, correct or delete the details you gave us by emailing hello@ukpickleballhub.co.uk or using the contact page.

If you believe we've handled your data improperly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Which third parties do we work with?

The site uses:

  • Cloudflare - hosting, DNS and DDoS protection, and Turnstile spam protection on the contact form and newsletter signup
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) - newsletter email delivery (AWS Europe, Ireland region)
  • Google Analytics 4 - anonymous traffic measurement (with consent)
  • Google Tag Manager - tag orchestration
  • Google Search Console - indexability monitoring (server-side only, no user-side cookies)

Each third party has its own privacy policy linked from its respective site.

How will we notify you about changes?

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the footer with the updated date. Continuing to use the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
